Your Safety
At Orthodontics on Danforth, your health and safety is our highest priority. Our office ensures that we remain compliant with the Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) standards, policies, and protocols provided by the RCDSO, in alignment with Public Health Ontario (PHO), the Public Health Agency of Canada, and the Provincial Infectious Disease Committee (PIDAC).
- Our clinic values safety, therefore, we have our own in-clinic sterilization technician! That’s right, we have a team member who is highly trained in sterilization and ensures that the guidelines and policies provided by the IPAC are thoroughly met and implemented constantly throughout the day on a daily basis. Check out our Meet the Team page.
- Our in-clinic sterilization section is devoted to ensuring our tools are up to code by maintaining sterilization standards according to the IPAC. This area serves the purpose of cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and reprocessing patient-care tools as well as the safe handling and disposal of sharps. Other processes include monitoring the sterilization, exposure management, risk assessment, and routine equipment checks.
- With our biological indicator machine and testing procedure, our office has a fast turn-around time (under 30 minutes) when it comes to getting our equipment checked and given the green light for safety. Other machines can take up to 24 hours.
- Check out our air purifiers around the office. We like to keep things fresh, not just our minty teeth and toothpaste!
- Our clinic team ensures that their workspaces are thoroughly sterilized between each patient. Elaborate cleaning processes and routines are underway while you’re waiting for your turn in the chair!
