Orthodontic Appliances
Orthodontic treatment is for all ages and everyone’s needs are different.
Sometimes orthodontists prescribe other appliances and tools to supplement your treatment in order to make your treatment journey more efficient, speed up treatment duration, and improve your results.
You may hear us discuss the terms “fixed” or “removable” appliances with you. These are types of tools that we use to achieve certain results and they support all the treatment options available.
Some of the common appliances and tools that we use in our office are:
- Palatal Expanders
- Carriere Motion Appliances
- Springs
- Bite Ramps/Bite Turbos
- Power Chains
- Face Masks
- Rubber Bands
- Spacers
The names sound pretty cool, don’t they? What’s even cooler, is the manner in which these appliances are strategically incorporated into your treatment plan to achieve the results that Dr. Trohatos is skillfully shaping for you.
Like the various treatment options that you will learn about in the following pages, these supplementary appliances are only as good as the strategist behind them. What use is a hammer and nails if you don’t know how to build a house!
